Canon EOS Digital Rebel 8.0 MegaPixels Digital Camera Review

Canon Rebel EosMany of you are familiar with digital cameras - heck, if you aren't, then where have you been? However, there are many different types of digital cameras. There are the small kind that will literally fit in the palm of your hand, and then there are the digital SLR's, which can take top-professional quality photographs and store them directly into your computer. However, the wide array of cameras is exactly the problem sometimes -- because many consumers just don't know which one to pick. That is why I thought I would help ease this problem, by reviewing one of the greatest digital cameras on the market today. And this camera is the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT 8.0-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Mode: Digital Rebel XT 18-55 Kit.

This camera will take your seriousness about photography to the next level. I believe that with this camera, it is hard to take a bad shot, when coming from the camera's angle. This digital camera comes with a massive 8.0-mega pixel single-plate CMOS sensor with built-in low-pass filter and RGB color filter, which captures high-resolution images up to 3456 x 2304. This camera is perfect for those of you who are wanting to enlarge your photographs into even poster size images.

Some of the other features includes a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM zoom lens, which takes incredible picture detail. There is even a EF lens mount for use with more than 50 Canon EF and EF-S interchangeable lenses - this camera definitely gives you a variety of shooting options. And the options don't stop there, when you are wanting to view your pictures, than you can with the 1.8" color active-matrix TFT-LCD monitor with 115K pixels and 5-level brightness control. There is even a fixed eye-level pentaprism viewfinder with adjustable diopter, fixed precision-matte screen and 0.8x magnification, and a histogram display and depth-of-field preview.

Some of the other features delves deep into the image processor. This camera comes with a DIGIC II image processor, which gives your pictures a precise, natural color and accurate white balance in varying lighting situations. There is also technologically advanced signal-processing algorithms for fast image capture and processing and low energy consumption.

There are also several exposure modes, which include auto, manual, full auto, portrait, landscape, close-up, sports, night portrait and flash off. And when you are talking about auto focus, this camera has one of the best focusing features in the digital camera world. There is a 7-point cross-pattern, wide-area auto focus with auto and manual point selection. Some of the modes include 1-shot, predictive and selectable AI servo, AI focus and full manual. This camera even has a 10-second self-timer, and on the opposite side of the spectrum, it has a 3 fps (frames-per-second) continuous shooting with a maximum burst of 14 large/fine JPEG images.

If you are worried about white balancing options, well don't be, this camera has plenty! With some of the options including auto, daylight, shade, cloudy/twilight/sunset, tungsten light, white flourescent light, built-in pop-up E-TTL II auto flash, as well as the camera being compatible with EX-series Speedlite external flashes - this camera is built for the user who loves options!

And lastly, this camera has a 0.2-second start-up time, so you will never miss a shot, also the shutter release lag is 0.01-second and blackout time is a mere 0.0175 second. This camera is absolutely built for those of you who love to take pictures. But not just any pictures, great pictures. And with it being priced under $700.00, than it's a real steal.
