Lower-priced dslr cameras (DSLRs) have grown to be the entry point for photography enthusiasts who have outgrown the features and quality of their small "Point & Shoot" digital cameras. While the entry-level field iscrowded with offerings from numerous manufacturers (the Nikon D40X, Pentax K10D, Olympus E510, and others), Canon's latest Digital Rebel providing stands out in terms of features, image quality, and value.
If you are looking for quality information regarding online shopping in india, follow the link I have provided, it will be beneficial for you. Digital camera reviews: Cannon EOS 400D The Canon EOS 400D (sold as the XTi in North America) features a 10.1 mega-pixel sensor in a compact, lightweight body. While the body's outside is ABS plastic, the camera has a metal interior frame and steel lens mount, and feels sturdy in the hands. An update in order to Canon's very popular EOS 300D (XT in North America), the 400D includes a larger LCD screen (2.5" versus 2"), a faster burst rate (28 JPGs vs. 14 JPGs), a new self-cleaning sensor system, and of course 2 more mega-pixels for higher-quality pictures. The Canon EOS 400D camera hit the market as effective full-featured camera with enough horsepower for the serious digital photographer. It is considered to be reasonable upgrade from its predecessor the EOS 350D. With new features such as a 2 1/2 inch viewer along with additional on screen info to assist with the photographer's initiatives, this 10.1 megapixal treasure can zoom in with the clarity you realized from a camera of the quality. This is Canon's greatest resolution digital XLR available on the market. This camera is actually compact and lightweight while still muscling its method toward the top of the actual heap in quality and dust reduction. It provides a nine point auto-focus and an anti-static surface coating. It will allow you to skyrocket to 27 jpg's inside a burst. With a better user interface and a aggressive price, this SLR could well be the camera you have been waiting for to move up to and including serious piece of hardware. The large and vibrant 2.5" LCD display is also used since the menu screen, replacing the smaller top-mounted LCD associated with previous Canons. This utilization makesmenu selections easier to access and provides a large, bright, readable display of your current settings. Canon thoughtfully provides a sensor at the top of the display that automatically turns them back when you put your eye up to the digital camera's viewfinder to save battery power, in addition to a button you can use to power it down or on at any time. If you've only utilized a compact digital camera prior to, you're likely to be amazed the very first time you look through the viewfinder of the DSLR like the 400D - the view is vibrant and clear, and as you zoom or focus the zoom lens you see exactly what the digital camera sees through the lens. And those lenses tend to be, ofcourse, interchangeable - Canon can make over 50 EF lenses which will fit the 400D, from super-wide angle to super-telephoto, through macro lenses to versatile zooms, and everything in between. High-quality lenses are also available from third-party vendors such as Sigma, Tamrom, and Tokina. In short, for anything you can imagine shooting with the 400D, there is a lens accessible. The "kit" lens that accompany the camera, Canon's 18-55mm EF-S lens, is agood lens to start with. Providing a reasonably wide-angle view that can zoom to a short telephoto view, it covers the range for most snapshots with great optical quality -- and its small size and light weight match the 400D body well. As soon as bitten by the DSLR bug, however, you may find yourself longing after some of the more expensive zoom lens options that provide higher-quality optics, larger zoom ranges, or more light-gathering power for low-light capturing. The images from the 400D tend to be of outstanding quality. At the smallest ISO (sensitivity) settings, pictures are noise-free, smooth, and extremely detailed. The 10.1MP images easily make great looking prints up to 13" x 19" and beyond, along with excellent color precision and saturation too. One place where the XTi really shines is in low-light circumstances, when you have to turn up the camera's ISO value to 800 or 1600 - images from the 400D remain detailed and obvious despite a bit of noise at those settings, and the camera's performance relative to its competitors makes it the obvious winner in low-light capturing. For those times when there's simply not enough light, the actual built-in flash (thatappears when you need it) will provide light up to 20 feet away automatically. Images could be saved directly as JPG files, as RAW files (a kind of "digitalnegative" that requires more digesting but provides much more color space and much more editing options), or even both at the same time. The actual included software will help you download images from you to a computer, modify both JPG as well as RAW files, and it has some nice panorama as well as printing utilities. It's all you need to get started viewing, editing, and publishing your high-resolution digital pictures. The camera comes with all of the necessary start-up accessories (electric battery, charger, strap, guides, and software) with the exception of a memory card - you'll have to buy a Compact Flash card before you can start taking pictures. Given the size of the 400D's high-resolution pictures, a 1GB card or larger is suggested. Light, versatile, easy to use, and a bargain price -- Canon's 400D is an ideal camera to pick up if you want to go to the "next level" of image quality past those compact digital camera models, or if you're making the switch from 35mm film SLR cameras in order to digital.Digital camera evaluations: Canon EOS 350D The Canon EOS 350D Digital Camera is a DSLR or Digital Single-Lens Reflex camera. Which means that it has a fast shutter pace and also that you can take several shots in quick succession. I've found this a bit step up from my old Nikon Coolpix which sometimes took a few seconds between shots depending on how much battery power was left. It is much bigger than the smaller more compact camera so if you don't wish to carry it on vacations you would be better associated with with a compact or even disposable camera. I find the Canon EOS will work for image quality along with 8 mega-pixels. The start-up period when you switch within on is a matter of a couple of seconds. The battery are rechargeable which may be a nuisance if you have not brought your battery charger with you. I don't think I can use normal batteries with this camera. It has an impressive eye Zoom of 29-88mm. The actual controls are user-friendly even though I find that there are far too many features for me to have a serious interest in all of them. I'm not used to the camera of this quality but I examined a few stores and also got advice and the common consensus is that this digital camera or the Nikon D50 are the best worth in their price bracket. I'd rate this camera 9 out of 10.

Wich is better?
I am a casual user of the Canon AE-1 SLR 35mm camera and am upgrading to a DSLR for an upcoming trip to Japan. Right now I have narrowed my choices down to the Nikon D40 or the Canon EOS XT. Any suggestions to which is better for a beginner at Digital but not SLR. It seems that the Nikon is a little bit more user friendly but the Canon is more for the professional. Your thoughts people?

digital cameras slr or point n shoot?
lag, manual over-riding, burst, interchangable lenses, size... any other drastic thing I'm missing in the debate of slr vs point n shoot for a non professional .. kick around hobby capture the experience person? I think the lag and lack of burst on the point and shoots is holding me back from leaning towards those. Sony DSLR A100K., Olympus E330 evolt, or Canon EOS XT w/ kit -heard the lens sucks? opinions on that?
